How Assessments & Modules Framework Works

Assessments are the core of SkillEnsure's competency validation process. This guide explains how modules and assessments work, and how to prepare effectively.

Modules Structure

Each certification is divided into modules, where every module represents a distinct competency area. To complete a certification, you must pass the assessment for every module within the program.

A typical module contains:

  • A set of knowledge references (readings, guidelines, data samples, flowcharts)
  • One assessment to validate your understanding of that competency area

Assessment Format

Assessments on SkillEnsure are:

  • Multiple-choice questions — select the best answer from a set of options
  • Time-based — completed within a defined time limit
  • Score-based — you must achieve a minimum passing score to complete the module

Preparing for an Assessment

SkillEnsure does not require you to follow a specific learning path. You have two options:

  1. If you already have the expertise — review the module's knowledge references briefly, then attempt the assessment directly
  2. If you want to strengthen your knowledge — study the curated references provided in each module before attempting the assessment

Knowledge references typically include:

  • Well-researched articles and readings
  • Best-practice guidelines
  • Data samples and flowcharts
  • Module-oriented frameworks and approaches

Taking an Assessment

  1. Open the certification program from your dashboard or the certifications catalog
  2. Select the module you want to complete
  3. Review the knowledge references if needed
  4. Click Start Assessment when ready
  5. Answer all questions within the allotted time
  6. Submit and view your score

Passing and Failing a Module

  • If you pass, the module is marked as completed and you progress through the framework
  • If you do not meet the passing score, check the platform's policy on retakes — review the relevant knowledge references before trying again

Tracking Your Progress

As you complete modules, your progress is tracked within the certification framework. Your dashboard shows:

  • Which modules are completed
  • Which modules are still pending
  • Your overall progress toward earning the certification

Earning Your Certification

Once all modules in a certification framework are successfully completed, you become eligible to receive your certification. See the Credentials & Certificates help document for what you receive.

Tips for Success

  • Read the knowledge references for each module even if you're experienced — they align with the assessment's terminology and framing
  • Don't rush; time limits are designed to be reasonable for focused candidates
  • Focus on applied knowledge — questions test how you'd use skills in real scenarios, not just definitions
