Description

Most security breaches do not start with a genius hacker. They start with an account nobody switched off, a database left open to the internet, a password that was easy to guess, a patch that waited too long or an email that looked just like the real one. Organizations rarely lack security products; they lack people who can look at their own systems, see those ordinary weaknesses and explain which ones matter most. This course teaches exactly that. You learn what cybersecurity protects, how attackers work, how identities, networks, systems and data are defended, and how to turn what you find into a ranked list of fixes that a manager can act on.

How the course is taught

You do not need any security or programming background. Every lesson follows the same rhythm: a real situation, a precise explanation with a plain-words summary, a short prepared code demo that you run in Google Colab and that is explained step by step, exercises with hints and answers, and the key points to remember. All the work happens inside one fictional business, the outdoor retailer Trailhead Outfitters, so the accounts, systems, rules and logs you analyse feel like a real company rather than toy examples, and the weaknesses you find connect to each other the way they do in real life.

Everything is defensive and runs on the course's own files. There is no lab to set up, no virtual machine, no security tool to buy and no real system to scan. Every number printed in the lessons comes from actually running the code, so what you read is what you will see on your own screen.
